Sailing Summer 2017- July 30th

We're finally starting another sailing trip. Our boat is on Orcas Island, so it's a bit of a trek to get to it. Today is a dull travel day, but worth mentioning for all the different modes of transport used.

Despite all the connections, it all went fairly smoothly. The only change I would make is that I wish we had taken the earlier Bellaire bus out of the Seattle airport so that we could have eaten some decent food at the Burlington travel connection. There's a new Starbucks there plus several restaurants, and a new terminal (read trailer) where customers can use a restroom before making the Anacortes bus transfer. The airport outside of security, on the other hand, has no decent food to speak of, and we arrived there at 9:55 for the 11 am bus to Burlington.

So, I we traveled by

  • taxi, Napa Airporter from Napa to Sacramento Int'l Airport
  • Southwest Airlines from Sacramento to Seattle (SEATAC) airport
  • Bellaire bus from SEATAC to Burlington, transferring to Anacortes
  • Washington State Ferry from Anacortes to Orcas Island
  • Taxi, local to the marina and our yacht, Anomaly
