June 10th- Return to Back Eddy marina

The Dock at Chattterbox Falls

River otters are notorious for messing up docked boats elsewhere

The rain started at 6am. I washed some sox yesterday and they’re still wet. Jon fixed cinnamon rolls and our morning mochas. We left the dock at Chatterbox Falls at 9:30 along with most of the visiting yacht club.

It rained a lot today so we didn’t get to enjoy the views of the Queens, Royal, Princes and Agamemnon straits. Instead, I tried a digital painting of Chatterbox Falls.

It was still raining when we reached the Back Eddy Marina again around 2:30. We were put at the extreme west end again since we don’t require power. Grabbed our umbrellas and went to check out the West Country Wilderness Lodge next door, but were almost stopped at reception. Apparently, there is a wedding party there and he wouldn’t let us go in until I said we only wanted coffee. The dining room and deck are as impressive as advertised, and it turned out to be a lot of fuss for nothing since almost no one was there.

It was still raining at 4, so we settled into the Back Eddy Pub to wait for the NBA playoffs; this time the Warriors stayed ahead with a spurt in the 4th quarter to win. The tomato basil soup and the salmon dinner was good, if not a rather small portion for the $25 cost. The house-made brownies were all the sweeter after the win.
