10/3/15 Seattle to Blakely Harbor and the Sailing Anarchy Rendezvous.

Sunny and Brisk, Windy on Puget Sound
Alex Wetmore joined us on a brisk sail to Kim and Susan Bottles lovely home in Blakely Harbor on Bainbridge Island. There we met many other sailing enthusiasts who also post on the Sailing Anarchy discussion board.
Susan, Emmy Basiji and two of her three children and I went on a walk to Blakely Harbor Park, the site of an old saw mill that is gradually being transformed into a community gem. We continued on to the Halls Hill lookout, but the Basijis had to drop out because their poor little dog Coral was exhausted. Next time they visit they can also enjoy the lovely views, the custom designed prayer wheel and the labyrinth that takes 3 minutes to walk.
By the time Susan and I got back, the rendezvous was already breaking up and Jon was taking Alex to his ride home on the Basijis Catalina 50. I was able to get a tour of Kim’s fantastic sleek day sailer, the Francis Lee. Kim also showed me his electric fence that keeps the naughty destructive otters off his dock and boats.
We returned to our boats and exchanged boat tours with Steve Goodwin. I was very impressed with all the work his done himself on Panope, a gaff-rigged sloop converted from a schooner his father originally commissioned.
