Friday, March 21st- Hawksbill Cay to Shroud Cay

I had difficulty sleeping from the burning of my insect bites, so I was able to get this picture of dawn at Hawksbill

The Hawksbill anchorage required more care due to random coral heads, but the light was good to see them..

Shroud Cay wasn’t very far away, but I wanted to see the Tropic Birds again. Sure enough, they were flying over the anchorage, but they are almost impossible to photograph. I counted 25.

After lunch, we investigated one of the bays and secondary side creeks by oar, but again were disappointed by the lack of submarine life; 1 small barracuda, 2 fish, and a big ray. None of the rocks seemed to have fish for snorkeling, so we landed at our same beach (near the pay box) and swam in the warmer shallower water. Afterward, Jon zipped back in the dinghy to get photos of Anomaly. He also tried his SNUBA gear and found he needed all of the weights to stay below and observe the keel.
