MDI 6/29/11

Foggy and drizzly today, Weds. after 2 nice days (which followed 3 bad). It was especially tough on Jon to have to stand and watch for lobster pots with no more than 1/4 mile visibility for 6 1/2 hours straight.
We indulged ourselves by taking a mooring right next to the Margaret Todd (4 masted schooner) at the Bar Harbor pier, and walking into town to the best coffee house and bakery, Morning Glory. Then we had a nice prime rib dinner at our favorite cafe, the Portside Grill. Great food at the best prices in town.
I tortured Jon by making him go to my 4 favorite shops- Island Artisans (bird paintings on goose feathers!), Window Panes (Danish kitchen towels!), Scrimshaw Workshop ( the oddest format landscapes I’ve ever seen, 30 x 5) and the Art store with botanicals by Lynn Snow and maritime history scenes by Ray Prosser.
We enjoyed some ice cream by the Jordon Pond store, but it was a bit too much on the syrupy side for us. Managed to choke it down anyway 😉
